North Lake Hut

North Lake, Sierra Ski Huts trip starts by meeting in Bishop, California, and then heads up above the small village of Aspendell. A 2-hour approach brings the groups up to the small hut, where we drop all the gear except the essentials and head out for the vast terrain around us—some of the best and most advanced ski terrain of any hut in California. The North Lake Hut may be the most basic in the state, but it more than makes up for it with some of the best terrain. It is a fabric-insulated building with bunk beds and a small cook and prep kitchen. Give us a call if you would like to arrange a guided hut tour or course.

MT Shasta Backcountry Hut
Mount Shasta Ski Area – 2-4 Days

Two quaint cabins are located in the forest, with amazing views of Mount Shasta and the surrounding terrain. There is a cooking and sleeping cabin which offer a rustic, cozy atmosphere. The cooking cabin has basic amenities- bottled water, a two-burner cook stove, lanterns, and a wood stove with firewood. An outhouse is also provided with a composting toilet. The sleeping cabin has a wood stove with propane/solar lights. The bunks include foam mattresses and there is room to sleeps seven- two double mattress bunks and three individual bunks. The individual bunks will require climbing a ladder and do not have safety rails. Books, cards, darts, and board games are also provided. Pear Lake Winter Hut

This historic cabin is available to the public from December to April (weather, snow, and trail conditions may change closure date). The advanced-level ski/snowshoe trail offers a chance to explore the beautiful wilderness of the Sierra Nevada mountains during the winter months with a cozy cabin waiting for you at the end of your day. Begin your trip at 7,200 feet at Wolverton and ascend a steep six miles east to the Pear Lake area of 9,200 feet. The hut sleeps ten people and offers many amenities to lighten your load.
