Mount Shasta ski descent is considered a must do for any real backcountry skier. It offers the advanced to expert alpine skier a descent of over 7,000 vertical ft. from the summit down via a variety of amazing routes including the “Classic” Avalanche Gulch Route
Skiing the West Face is an excellent skiing adventure, a three-day guided climb & ski descent of Mt. Shasta’s classic West Face. The West Face is one of the less crowded routes on Mt Shasta, with its wide-open bowls descending into Cascade Gulch with additional options; sample the bowls in Cascade Gulch. Our route on the West Face of Mt Shasta is best climbed & skied in late spring to early summer when there is plenty of snow to cover the approach and upper mountain.
